Stray shopping carts from Walmart in dellview!

As you probably noticed we have a stray Walmart shopping cart problem in Dellview.
As concerned neighbors like myself, we need to contact Walmart headquarters to let them know we have a problem with these carts that have been found way beyond the Walmart parking lot on Vance Jackson and IH-10 here in Dellview.
We tried asking the manager there to curb them but still it happens and these carts can be dangerous if hitting a moving vehicle.

I urge you as concerned neighbors to contact them. If you don't want to call you can do it on line like I did. The trick is to go to where it has a section regarding "store appearance". Click that one and it will give you a space to write your complaint. Please remember to mention where this store is.
The more we do this and use social media like Facebook and Twitter to address this problem the chances we will start to see results. Walmart doesn't like bad advertising you know.

Sara Samano: Former Dellview Area Neighborhood Association Board Member.

Sara Samano and Joan Fabian at the Dellview Concert, 2012.
We wanted to specially thank former DANA Board Member, Sara Samano for all her hard work serving our Dellview community. She was dynamic in helping with many Neighborhood Night outs and numerous other duties. I personally want to congratulate her efforts on the Dellview Concert: A Journey through Time held September 21, 2012. Without Sara I wouldn't have had the strength to continue on this project and she was my personal cheerleader. Her smile helped me on my way working to make this project a success.  She obtained numerous donations and sponsors. Sara was also key in being a super mediator at our meetings when disputes happened (a rarity) and her kind words always helped smooth things out.  Her hard work continues on a daily basis since she is a counselor at San Antonio College and is a real professional indeed.

When I found out that she was resigning to devote time and energy to her family and personal obligations I was sad because she was a key to the unique chemistry our 2011-2012 DANA Board had. I hope that she will volunteer to help during the many activities and events we have in store for this year. Remember, this year is our 10th anniversary!  Thank you Sara! We love you!!!!

New Year and new Changes for Dellview DANA

Happy New Year (I know its a bit late) but wanted to say it when I created a new blog for Dellview.
Many wonderful things have happened and we all know it was very eventful in 2012 with the Dellview Concert and all the fun activities our association has accomplished and the list would go on. You know all that already.

We have new board members and you can see all the famous names on our newsletter and website.

Now I want to tell you that our newsletter, The Dellview Heartbeat has been revamped due to budget restraints. That means a front cover in color and the rest in black and white. We all think it looks grand regardless and saves us a bit. It was costing us 2.90 an issue. My job as an designer was to do more with less so at least we have one page in color! I hope you all like it.

I will be working on this blog and welcome all your ideas and comments. Please keep it positive because you know its a neighborhood we are talking about.
Hold tight and things will work out. That is what my dear mom always said. Bless her heart.

Check us out at www.dellviewarea.org for all the info on what is going on and how to become a member. We need you in our neighborhood to make a healthy neighborhood for all and especially the young folks that grow up there. Just remember your childhood memories of where you grew up and you get the picture.

Our blog is www.dellviewheartview.blogspot.com

With beautiful color I wish you the best,
Joan (aka Delly)
